homas comes to The Hustead Law Firm from Kansas City, Missouri, putting his competitive drive and astute, analytical mind to work in all that he does.
Thomas attended Saint Louis University, graduating with distinction with a Bachelor of Arts in International Business and International Marketing. He attended Saint Louis University on an academic and athletic scholarship, briefly pursuing athletics before studying abroad in Madrid, Spain. While abroad, he taught ESL to young professionals and volunteered at an AIDS clinic. In college, Thomas worked full time and was also a mainstay at the Saint Louis University Campus Kitchen. After graduating, Thomas moved to Chicago and worked for an insurance brokerage before attending law school.
Thomas earned his Juris Doctorate from Washington University in St. Louis where he was a Scholar at Law scholarship recipient. While in law school, Thomas clerked for the Hon. Donald Wilkerson, a federal judge in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. He demonstrated his diverse array of interests, spending summers working for the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Legal Department in Eagle Butte, South Dakota and the Dallas County Public Defender’s Office. When Thomas was not working or studying he volunteered in the Better Business Bureau’s mediation department and also spent a great deal of time volunteering at New Roots, a local urban farm. He received CALI awards in both Sports Law Planning and Drafting and in Media Litigation, and led his intramural softball team to a championship victory in the spring of his 2L year.
Born and raised in Kansas City, Thomas remains a dedicated Kansas City sports fan. When not at the office Thomas can be found at the 20th Street Recreation Center where he is a member of the House of Pain boxing team. Thomas also loves golf, baseball, basketball (and all manner of competitive sports) and is an avid reader. Thomas is also an outdoors enthusiast, getting involved in all that Colorado has to offer.
